Gateway to Mary's Rock, Shenandoah National Park
If you have hiked up to Maryâs Rock on the AT from Thornton Gap, you have met this wonderful gnarled old tree, full of burls, and arching over the trail like a gateway. I like to think of it as the guardian of the trail, keeping an eye on everyone who hikes underneath. I pay my toll as I pass underneath by giving this marvelous old tree an affectionate pat! Double matted and framed to 14x18. Also available unframed if you would like to choose your own frame, please indicate the option you choose. Available at Middle Street Gallery in Washington, VA beginning September 6.
