Spring Thaw at Emerald Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park
A few years ago in May, we joined rangers from around the globe for the World Ranger Congress at Rocky Mountain National Park. We had some opportunities to explore the park, including a hike up to Emerald Lake. The trail was still covered in snow, as much as two feet in most places, and the ice was just beginning to melt off the lakes. It was an amazing contrast to the warm Virginia spring we had just left behind, and one small example of the extraordinary experiences one can have visiting a National Park. Framed to 16 x 20.
