Heart Spring, Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park is a truly magical place, a diverse and enchanting landscape that never ceases to thrill me. Heart Spring is one of my favorite spots in the geyser basin areas of the park, the deep blue color is just stunning. It was named by park geologist George Marler around 1959, because it is shaped like a human heart. The various colors found in the hydrothermal features are caused by microscopic organisms called thermophiles. Original watercolor double matted and framed to 14x18.
